Got this Ninja Air Fryer for Christmas & haven't used it until last night. I wanted some fish & tator tots for dinner & even though I love my oil fryer, I hated the thought of having to drag it out, add the oil & clean up the big mess afterwards..& then I remembered this bad boy that I had gotten but have not used because I was such the skeptic about it all. Took it out of the box, looked over the manuel & recipe book which was very easy by the way & I started with the tator tots, all I did was put them in the basket, hit a few buttons & halfway through I paused it to have a look see & shake them around to brown evenly & then I put them back in. When the timer was up & it beeped, I took out the basket, pleasantly suprised at how nicely brown they were & I dumped them onto a paper towel lined cookie sheet.
and that's when it happened. I waited a few minutes for them to cool off enough to eat & before I could snag one, my boys came through, grabbed a handful, popped 'em in their mouth & all I heard was "Ooooo, good!" still being a 'lil bit skeptical myself, I tried one & was in LOVE! super crispy, super tasty & no oily mess! Not to mention that this is soooo much healthier than using oil. Being my skeptical self I thought "o.k., no biggy, tator tots are good...but what about the fish"? so I did as I normally do & I breaded the fish with Zatarain's crispy southern fish fry & put a few pieces in the basket, set the timer & let it go. When I heard the beep, I giggled at thought of what I might see when I took that basket out & I was shocked.
Nicely, evenly browned & when it was cool enough to try & I did, I was in heaven! my husband scoffed at me for rolling my eyes & laughing once again at the mere thought that this Ninja air fryer could do what my big bad boy oil fryer could do when we took it out of the box but let me tell yall, it did! Juicy on the inside, crispy & brown on the outside & in half the time it used to take me to cook fish in my oil fryer. I am in LOVE! Not to mention the other things that you can do with this like Dehydrating fruits & foods. I am very happy with this!
