Tacos stuffed in crescent rolls. Really?
Posted July 2nd, 2013 by bevcooks
Remember those taco parties at your local Mexican restaurant when we were kids? Remember those? Weren’t they so fun and awesome? I KNOW.
This has nothing to do with that. I just like strolling down memory lane.
But how amazing would it have been if the tacos . . . were stuffed in . . . crescent rolls? It already hurts, doesn’t it?
Thing is, we don’t even have to imagine it. It doesn’t have to be a fake memory in our souls. We can make it happen NOW. Why is life so magical?
Let’s do this.
Start by browning and seasoning some ground turkey. You’re more than welcome to use beef or chicken in place of turkey. I just used turkey because I’m a turkey. HAR HARRRRR.
Oh.
Then what you’ll do is unroll the crescent rolls, but keep two of them attached, like a rectangle. Then press those perforated edges together, making it seamless.
Alright, now spread some black refried beans on half of the calzones. If you can’t find black, regular is fine!
I’m also going to show you another way to do this in a sec. But for now, let’s look at this way. I’m confused.
Add the turkey. Yumz.
Then add some shredded cheese, chopped tomato, sliced black olives and sliced scallions. Look at that happiness.
Then you’ll fold the other half over and pinch the edges together to seal! Basically I’m showing you pictures of my weird hand over and over.
Okay, if you waaaant, you can stuff them this way. Just on the bottom half. In the end, I found it easier to do it this way. I left these two cheese-free because my husband is a total freak.
Fold, pinch and seal.
Then you bake ‘em up and glooooory be.
Don’t like they look like cute taco clutch purses? Sort of? No? Okay.
Here are the first two, with cheese. I wanted to show you the inside so you could see everything melted and taco-y. The taste is going to drop-kick your life.
In your FACE, taco party.
