Teacher Freebies:

Slightly Sidetracked

From My Routine With Hurricane Isaac & Boy's Being Boys ~sigh~ But I'm Getting To It, I Promise.
I Told Yall The Other Day About Some Helpful Home-school Resources & Freebies For Teachers That I Was Going To Post & I Meant To Post It The Same Day & Ended Up Making A Trip To The Er With My Son & I'm Just Now Getting Around To Posting It Finally. lol

Hurricane Isaac Hasn't Made That Much Of An Impact As We Thought It Would But Watching The Weather Channel & Local News Channel To Keep Updated Has Drained Me, Were Just Getting A Lot Of Rain & I've Heard Reports Of Flooding But I Think Were Pretty Safe Now. I Will Be Praying For Those In Louisiana & Mississippi, They Are Getting The Brunt Of It.

As For The Trip To The E.R., My Son Was Outside Horsing Around & I No Sooner Got Out Of My Mouth "To Be Careful, Or Somebody'd Gonna Get" Hurt When He Fell & Twisted His Knee. He Wasn't Hurt Badly & I Knew It Wasn't Broken But It Was Pretty Swollen & He Said He Couldn't Straighten It Out Without It Hurting Really Bad, So I Took Him In. Nothing Was Torn Or Broken But They Wrapped It & Gave Him Crutches (I See Another Trip To The E.R) & Wanted Him To Stay Off Of It For A Few Days & Keep An Eye On It. ~sigh~ Just Boy's Being Boys.

Homeschooling - I'm Lovin' It!

Well, Public School Started Last Monday Which Is When We Were Supposed To Start But Our Materials Didn't Come In Until Late Afternoon Friday So We Kinda Got A Late Start But It Doesn't Matter, We Are Relaxed & Going At Our Own Pace, I Love Having That Flexibility.
Were Not Rushed To Do Anything "On Time".

I Am So Happy That I Decided To Homeschool With K12. They Provide (At No Cost) All Student Books & Workbooks For All Subjects As Well As Electives & Teacher Guides.

I Love Teaching, I Not Only Know Exactly What Is Taught But I Understand How & Why It's Being Taught. Best Of All, I Don't Have To Ask "What Did You Learn In School Today Because I Know, I Was There!

I Have A Lot Of Resources For Homeschoolers But That Will Come In Another Post, It Is Kinda Lengthy But Very Helpful In The Way Of Daily Routines, Feild Trip Ideas, History & Science DVD's, Free Books For Kids To Read Etc... Nothing Special Is Required To Teach A Child, Love Them , Involve Them In The Lesson & They'll Learn What They Need To Know.

Til' Tommorow, I've Gotta Get Dinner Started..

Decision's, Decision's....

I am looking for a recommendation on either cafepress or zazzle to have my pictures put onto canvas and shirts etc. I Like the looks of both but zazzle seems a bit more pricey and yet i think it has more to offer me. Has anyone ever used either one? good or bad, i'm looking to get some feedback before i decide on who to go with.

Thanks All

Here he comes...

Hurricane Isaac that is. Supposed to be a cat. 1, maybe a 2 but in either case...are you ready?  I've got candles, but I'm going tommorow morning to have an oil change done on the car, gas up & get groceries. We'll be watching the weather channel as well as the normal fox news just to keep an eye on things. I know it's probably not going to be a big deal but you just never know what they might do, they tend to have a mind of thier own & I'm actually suprised that this season has been relatively calm (knock on wood) Anyway, we don't plan on leaving unless it becomes mandatory. just a head's up, if yall don't hear from me, it's either because I was swept away like Dorothy or I decided to have a hurricane party & drank to much! (it is the weekend ya know) lol be safe yall

Til next time...

The End Of Summer

Well, This is the last week before the boy's start back to school.  Friday we go get the boy's schedules. I've already gotten school supplies and clothes, it just seems like it all went so fast & the boys are not at all enthusiastic at all. Glad to have the cooler temps. coming but it's kinda sad saying goodbye to summertime fun. Staying up as long as you wanted, sleeping in as late as you could & just being free to do as you wished. But as summer ends and fall comes in, we can look forward to not only cooler weather but of course, the holidays and celebrating it all with family. I will be homeschooling my youngest son this year because I'm not at all pleased with the policies & treatment of the students and parents, as well as the overall grade of the school. Just thought I could do better one on one with my son where as when he was in public school last year, the teachers were so overwhelmed with students that they couldnt give the attention that was needed. We shall see. Me, Manny & the boy's have been through a lot this past year and were hoping that things can get back to what most call a "normal" life.  I've done a lot of thinking about what's happened and with so called "family" & "friends" and I know that I'll never have the relationship I had so hoped for and I've even thought about just not trying to have a relationship at all anymore. I have tried my best only to just be ignored or lied to & I'm hurt that my boy's get thier hopes up like me only to get disappointed..again & again. Would that make me a bad person? I don't think so...   I'm just not going to waste anymore of my time trying when they don't even care enough to do that. Life is all too short & I feel as though I need to move on & do what makes me & my boys happy. Sure they'll be missed but then again....if our relationship was little to none, what am I missing?  anyway,....I will be blogging more once things get a little more settled, I hope to blog on a daily basis with home life, recipes, freebies, do it yourself crafts and all kinds of good stuff. Fall weather always puts me in a calm, laid back & not always so hurried, peaceful state to focus on things that I like to do. As we say goodbye to summer with the last few cookouts and nights of staying up & sleeping in, I wish you all the best for a new season.

Til next time yall!
