Wahm Of The Week -- Traci Keyes
(Picture Of Yourself Here) I'm working on this one.
) Tell us a little about yourself. Where to start, I am married, and have four children (13, 12, 6, 3). I am a stay at home mom and I have my own home daycare business in which I watch mostly pt children, except in the summer when they turn into FT. I have a BA in Education and I'm currently taking college courses for Computer Graphics. I also own an on line Photography business called The Moonlight Attic (http://www.themoonlightattic.net) I specialize in product photography, photo editing, note cards, the design of bookmarks, post cards, and business cards.
) Do you enjoy the work you do? I've been doing daycare off and on for about 12 years, taking a break in the middle to teach 3 and 4th grade. After teaching for awhile, my husband and I decided we wanted more children and the only way we could afford that was to start the home daycare up again. This allows me to stay home with my children (which is what I really wanted to do). My passion however is the photography business.
) Did you know that this would be what you'd do as an adult? Or was it just something that happened (fate, fun, destiny, coincidence, financial need, etc)? I always knew I would be involved with children, this was obvious even as a young child. In high school I wanted to be a teacher, so that is what I became. However, my desire for a large family was stronger. Becoming a photographer happned purely by accident. I always loved taking pictures, however, my passion did not become realized until a friend of mine asked for some help taking product photographs of her jewelry. The rest is history. lol
) Where do you see yourself in five years? In five years I'm hoping that my photography business will have flourished and I will find myself bogged down with tons of work! lol
)Are You With Any Work At Home Mom Social Networks? Or Groups That You Would Like To Share? "IE;"...Cafemom, Ryze, Momspace, Etc. I belong to mompackers through yahoo. This group is a wonderful network of woman who all share the same intersets (family, work and trying to have a successfull business). We exchange ideas, thoughts, business, and most of all support.
) Do You Have Any Advice You Could Give For Another Mom About Starting To Work From Home? The only thing I can say is that you need to believe in yourself, even when it feels like no one else does. Surround yourself with people that think positive, because it's very easy to let one negative comment bring you down. Last but not least, remember this, if you never try to succeed, you will never know if you can succeed.
If there's anything else you'd like to say, please feel free to say it here.

Wahm Of The Week -- Cynthia Powell

) Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a Christian, a wife and a mother to 3 boys. That about sums it up.
:-) Well I guess I can tell you a little bit more. I was formerly a Chemical
Engineer and worked in a glue manufacturing facility to 8 years. I have been
a work at home mom for 9 years, now. I enjoy talking on the phone and
visiting with good friends. I love to study the Bible and books about the
Christian walk. I am very down to earth. I don't put-on a lot of our normal
social masks. I hate to dress up. I hate to wear make-up. I hate any kind of
'products' in my hair. Not to say I never do these things but I just like to
be my natural self. Ok, is that enough? :-)
) How many children do you have?
3 boys
) Are you married, single, divorced, never married, in a relationship?
married for 18 years this summer
) What kind of work do you do? Are you a stay at home mom? Do you own
your own business? Share links if applicable.
I am a work at home mom. I own Chicks & Cubs
(http://www.chicksandcubs.com/). This is my own business. I have pieced
together different products that I love to make my own company. There is not
anyone else exactly like my business. My blog is
http://www.growing-up-fast.com/
) Do you enjoy the work you do?
I love it!!! It is so much fun. It is my adult self, not wife, not
mom, Me, my business.
) Did you know that this would be what you'd do as an adult? Or was it
just something that happened (fate, fun, destiny, coincidence, financial
need, etc)?
I earned a Chemical Engineering degree and worked in that field for 8
years. I came home to be moma and started my own business. I never dreamed
this is where I would be.
) Where do you see yourself in five years?
I suspect my life will be much the same as today. I will still be
taking care of my husband, boys and business. I am sure the details will
have changed as the boys grow and the business grows but the overall jest of
my life will be about the same.
)Are You With Any Work At Home Mom Social Networks? Or Groups That You
Would Like To Share? "IE;"...Cafemom, Ryze, Momspace, Etc.
I have joined some of these but never spent a whole lot of time in them. I
do more with yahoo groups for networking. Maybe it is my age but I just
don't spend time there.
) Do You Have Any Advice You Could Give For Another Mom About Starting
To Work From Home?
My advice is always the same: it is NOT easy, to be successful is a
LOT of work. I just want them to go in with a little bit of the rose color
on the glasses coming off. I think we do a disservice to make it sound so
easy.
If there's anything else you'd like to say, please feel free to say it
here.
I would love to invite everyone to enter my Loot 4 Mama giveaway
http://www.chicksandcubs.com/giveaway.htm
We give away entry, weekly, mid-monthly, monthly and quarterly prizes worth
at least $25.00 and then the Grand Prize is $130 gift certificate for Baby
Shoe Bronzing.
Should I tell you more about the business?
I offer Baby Shoe Bronzing, Keepsakes and Child Safety Products.
Also if you do the writeup this month I am having a child safety sale during
this month (5/08) to get ready for vacation child safety.

Now That's Funny!
Have you ever spoken and wished that you could immediately take the words back... Or that you could crawl into a hole?
Here are the Testimonials of a few people who did....
FIRST TESTIMONY:
I walked into a hair salon with my husband and three kids in tow andAsked loudly, "How much do you charge for a shampoo and a blow job?"
I turned around and walked back out and never went back.
My husband didn't say a word...he knew better.
SECOND TESTIMONY:
I was at the golf store comparing different kinds of golf balls. I wasUnhappy with the women's type I had been using. After browsing for several minutes, I was approached by one of the good-looking gentlemen who works at the store. He asked if he could help me.
Without thinking, I looked at him and said, "I think I like playing with men's balls"
THIRD TESTIMONY:
My sister and I were at the mall and passed by a store that sold a variety of candy and nuts. As we were looking at the display case, the boy behind the counter asked if we needed any help.
I replied, "No, I'm just looking at your nuts."
My sister started to laugh hysterically. The boy grinned, and I turned beet-red and walked away. To this day, my sister has never let me forget.
FOURTH TESTIMONY:
While in line at the bank one afternoon, my toddler decided to release some pent-up energy and ran amok. I was finally able to grab hold of her after receiving looks of disgust and annoyance from other patrons. I told her that if she did not start behaving "right now" she would be punished.
To my horror, she looked me in the eye and said in a voice just as threatening, "If you don't let me go right now, I will tell Grandma that I saw you kissing Daddy's pee-pee last night!"
The silence was deafening after this enlightening exchange.
Even the tellers stopped what they were doing.
I mustered up the last of my dignity and walked out of the bank with my daughter in tow.
The last thing I heard when the door closed behind me, were screams of laughter.
FIFTH TESTIMONY:
Have you ever asked your child a question too many times?
My three-year-old son had a lot of problems with potty training and I was on him constantly. One day we stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch, in between errands. It was very busy, with a full dining room. While enjoying my taco, I smelled something funny, so of course I checked my seven-month- old daughter, she was clean. Then I realized that Danny had not asked to go potty in a while.
I asked him if he needed to go, and he said "No".
I kept thinking "Oh Lord, that child has had an accident, and I don't have any clothes with me."
Then I said, "Danny, are you SURE you didn't have an accident?"
"No," he replied. I just KNEW that he must have had an accident, because the smell was getting worse.
Soooooo, I asked one more time, "Danny did you have an accident?
This time he jumped up, yanked down his pants, bent over, spread his cheeks and yelled "SEE MOM, IT'S JUST FARTS!!"
While 30 people nearly choked to death on their tacos laughing, he calmly pulled up his pants and sat down. An old couple made me feel better, thanking me for the best laugh they'd ever had!
LAST BUT NOT LEAST TESTIMONY:
This had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days and a very embarrassed female news anchor who will, in the future, likely think before she speaks.
What happens when you predict snow but don't get any! We had a female news anchor that, the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked: "So John, where's that 8 inches you promised me last night?"
Not only did HE have to leave the set, but half the crew did too they were laughing so hard!
Now, didn't that feel good? Heehee

Today's Joke -- Nuthin Genst Indiana, I Gots Kin There
the
middle of the night, and the doctor was called out to assist in the
delivery. Since there was no electricity, the doctor handed the
father-to-be a lantern and said, "Here. You hold this high so I can see what I am
doing!."
Soon, a baby boy was brought into the world "Whoa there", said the
doctor, "Don't be in such a rush to put that lantern down I think there's another
one coming."
Sure enough, within minutes he had delivered a baby girl.
"Hold that lantern up, don't set it down there's another one!" Said the
doctor.
Within a few minutes he had delivered a third baby. "No, don't be in a
hurry to put down that lantern, it seems there's yet another one
coming!" cried
the doctor.
The redneck scratched his head in bewilderment, and asked the doctor,
.."You reckon it might be the light that's attractin' 'em?"

Wahm Of The Week -- Diane Winter's
I Am Diane Winters, I live in Caldwell, Idaho (25 Miles West of Boise, Idaho) I am 41 years young. I am adopted.
